The Indian Premier League (IPL) features 10 franchise teams representing different cities across India. Each team has a salary cap of ₹120 Crore to build their squad through retentions and auctions.
For IPL 2026, teams could retain up to 6 players (max 5 capped, max 2 uncapped) using Right to Match (RTM) cards. The remaining squad is built through the auction process where teams bid for players from the auction pool.
